Jim grew up in Seattle, and moved to Australia for love in 1999.
He began his directing career in music videos and documentaries, and won best director at The Shootout for his short film Not Everyone Can Fly. He has recently been conned into directing the pilot for Writer to Fix, a dramedy series with The Chaser, for the ABC.
His documentaries include On Mexican Time, co-created with Josh Wakely (Triggerstreet Finalist 2002), Broken Open (Sunscreen Film Festival 2004) and The Code, a five part series shot in various destinations throughout Europe, Egypt and Israel.
His screenplays include Pearl Brothers, co-written with Josh Wakely (finalist in the Paramount Chesterfield Writers Film Project) and his short film Possession, a story set in the seductive corridors of the art world, featuring artwork by the Australian artist Peter Booth , and performances by Asher Keddie, Max Cullen and Laurence Fuller, with narration by Rhys Muldoon. He is currently writing Stillwater, a feature film about the cost of unspoken expectations.
Jim has recently finished Early Checkout, starring Dustin Clare, Clarke Richards and Peta Sergeant, which has been selected to premiere at the Palm Springs International Shortfest, and Echo, a short film starring Josh Wakely and Brooke Satchwell.
He is working with producer Rosemary Blight at Goalpost Pictures on Draftin', his feature directorial debut, which is being shot in 2009.
Jim lives in Sydney with Lynnette, the love of his life, and his two sons, Tenzin and Finnian.
